Summary:Join French countertenor Philippe Jaroussky and the Freiburger Barockorchester for a fascinating exploration of the sacred music of two immortal German Baroque composers: Telemann and Bach. The virtuosic French countertenor Philippe Jaroussky is celebrated for his scintillating and tender interpretations of Baroque opera airs by Handel, Vivaldi, and their contemporaries. Here Jaroussky, with the help of the equally virtuosic Freiburger Barockorchester, lends his angelic voice to a program of sacred music by Telemann and Bach. The program features selected arias, recitatives, and sinfonias from sacred cantatas and passion-oratorios, with highlights including Telemann's Cantata TWV 1: 364, "Der am Ölberg zagende Jesus", which meditates upon Jesus on the Mount of Olives, and Bach's Cantata BWV 82, "Ich habe genug"
