Summary:Valery Gergiev conducts the Mariinsky Orchestra in Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 with Alexandra Conunova as soloist. The young Moldovian violinist has made a splash on the international competition circuit in recent years, winning prizes at the 2015 Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow, the 2015 Singapore International Violin Competition, and the 2012 Joseph Joachim International Violin Competition in Hannover. The concert took place as part of the 2016 MPHIL 360°, which featured performances of all of Mozart's violin concertos by rising star violinists. Written in the early 1770s when the composer himself was still a teenager, Mozart's five violin concertos represent the gallant style at its very best, never disappointing with their irresistible effervescence and youthful charm
