Summary:The orchestra Spira mirabilis is an atypical and international ensemble which was created by a group of musicians in order to put instrumentalists at the center of the musical creation process. This documentary catches a glimpse on their practice methods, based on mutual listening, debate and generosity. Made up of musicians playing in the best international orchestras, the Spira mirabilis gathers young people from a dozen of different countries. Their goal: not creating a new orchestra to give concerts with, but founding an ensemble of talented musicians they can rehearse and study with. Gerald Caillat has filmed them while they were rehearsing Schumann's Symphony no. 1 before a performance at the Teatro Comunale di Modena ... without any conductor!
