Zusammenfassung: | "This book offers a single, coherent framework of the political, economic, and social phenomena that characterize post-communist regimes. Focusing on Central Europe, the post-Soviet countries and China, the study provides concepts and theories to analyze the actors, institutions, and dynamics of post-communist democracies, autocracies, and dictatorships. The work explores the structural foundations of post-communist regime development; the types of state, with an emphasis on informality and patronalism; the types of actors in the political, economic, and communal spheres; the ways autocrats neutralize the institutions of public deliberation (media, elections, etc.); the color revolutions of civil resistance (as in Georgia and in Ukraine) and the defensive mechanisms of democracy and autocracy; the evolution of corruption and the workings of "relational economy"; an analysis of China as "market-exploiting dictatorship"; the sociology of "clientage society"; the instrumental use of ideology, with an emphasis on populism; and a six-regime framework for modeling regime trajectories. Written in textbook style, the book is suitable for both beginners who wish to understand the logic of post-communism and scholars who are interested in original contributions to comparative regime theory. The book is equipped with QR codes that link to a website, which contains interactive, 3D supplementary material for teaching"-- |

The book is equipped with QR codes that link to a website, which contains interactive, 3D supplementary material for teaching"-- Postcommunisme Political Science / Political Economy Political Science / Political Ideologies / Communism, Post-communism & Socialism Politics and government Post-communism Social conditions China Politics and government 21st century China Social conditions 21st century Post-communism China Post-communism Europe, Eastern Postkommunismus (DE-588)4998161-4 gnd rswk-swf Politisches System (DE-588)4046584-6 gnd rswk-swf Wirtschaft (DE-588)4066399-1 gnd rswk-swf Gesellschaft (DE-588)4020588-5 gnd rswk-swf Politische Führung (DE-588)4115584-1 gnd rswk-swf Osteuropa (DE-588)4075739-0 gnd rswk-swf Ostmitteleuropa (DE-588)4075753-5 gnd rswk-swf China (DE-588)4009937-4 gnd rswk-swf Since 1989 Europe, Eastern / Politics and government / 1989- Europe, Eastern / Social conditions / 1989- Europe de l'Est / Conditions sociales / 1989- Europe de l'Est / Politique et gouvernement / 1989- China Eastern Europe Electronic books Osteuropa (DE-588)4075739-0 g Ostmitteleuropa (DE-588)4075753-5 g China (DE-588)4009937-4 g Postkommunismus (DE-588)4998161-4 s Politisches System (DE-588)4046584-6 s Politische Führung (DE-588)4115584-1 s Wirtschaft (DE-588)4066399-1 s Gesellschaft (DE-588)4020588-5 s DE-604 Madlovics, Bálint 1993- author oth Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe Magyar, Bálint, 1952- The anatomy of post-communist regimes Budapest, Hungary ; New York, NY : Central European University Press, 2020 9789633863718 https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=3032085 Verlag kostenfrei Volltext |
