Zusammenfassung: | The present work not only contributes to shedding light on the linguistic and socio-historical origins of Afro-Peruvian Spanish, it also helps clarify the controversial puzzle concerning the genesis of Spanish creoles in the Americas in a broader sense. In order to provide a more concrete answer to the questions raised by McWhorter's book on The Missing Spanish Creoles, the current study has focused on an aspect of the European colonial enterprise in the Americas that has never been closely analyzed in relation to the evolution of Afro-European contact varieties, the legal regulations of black slavery. This book proposes the 'Legal Hypothesis of Creole Genesis', which ascribes a prime importance in the development of Afro-European languages in the Americas to the historical evolution of slavery, from the legal rules contained in the Roman Corpus Juris Civilis to the codes and regulations implemented in the different European colonies overseas. This research was carried out with the belief that creole studies will benefit greatly from a more interdisciplinary approach, capable of combining linguistic, socio-historical, legal, and anthropological insights. This study is meant to represent an eclectic step in such a direction |

Concluding remarks; References; Index The present work not only contributes to shedding light on the linguistic and socio-historical origins of Afro-Peruvian Spanish, it also helps clarify the controversial puzzle concerning the genesis of Spanish creoles in the Americas in a broader sense. This study is meant to represent an eclectic step in such a direction Geschichte gnd rswk-swf Espagnol (Langue) Dialectes African languages Influence on Spanish Black people Black people Languages FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDY Spanish Language and languages Spanish language Dialects Spanish language Foreign elements Black people Peru History Black people Peru Languages Spanish language Dialects Peru Spanish language Dialects Peru Chincha Spanish language Peru Foreign elements African Spanisch (DE-588)4077640-2 gnd rswk-swf Kreolisch-Spanisch (DE-588)4133929-0 gnd rswk-swf Sklaverei (DE-588)4055260-3 gnd rswk-swf Afrikanische Sprachen (DE-588)4120108-5 gnd rswk-swf Schwarze (DE-588)4116433-7 gnd rswk-swf Peru (DE-588)4045312-1 gnd rswk-swf Provinz Chincha (DE-588)107955114X gnd rswk-swf Chincha (Peru) / Languages Peru Peru / Chincha Electronic books History Peru (DE-588)4045312-1 g Sklaverei (DE-588)4055260-3 s Spanisch (DE-588)4077640-2 s Provinz Chincha (DE-588)107955114X g Afrikanische Sprachen (DE-588)4120108-5 s DE-604 Schwarze (DE-588)4116433-7 s Kreolisch-Spanisch (DE-588)4133929-0 s Geschichte z Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe Sessarego, Sandro Afro-Peruvian Spanish Amsterdam ; Philadelphia : John Benjamins Publishing Company, [2015] 9789027252753 https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=1070750 Verlag kostenfrei Volltext |
