| Beschreibung: | One month after the November Paris' attacks, President François Hollande's security turn and national unity call-with the so-called Republican Front-seems to have succeeded in preventing Marine Le Pen's far-right party (Front National, or FN) from winning the regional elections. However, this strategy only papered over the reasons for the continuous rise in popularity of FN and increases the uncertainty on the way to the 2017 presidential elections. Moreover, the implementation of Hollande's strategy risks pushing him into an increasingly confrontational stance with Brussels if no quick compromises can be found on security and economic issues |
