CONCLUSION The writings of the newspaper “Dašamirí are a piece of the mosaic of the Albanian National Renaissance. Many of the “Dašamiri” newspaper views have in their focus the strengthening of the national feelings of Albanians. Among other things, the newspaper wrote about the population of the vilayets, where Albanians lived, especially in the Vilayets of Kosova and Shkodra. It described the Vilayet of Kosova as a vilayet inhabited by the Albanian majority, and wrote that in the cities of this vilayet, the inhabitants even though were Albanians, they spoke Turkish language. The newspaper also writes for the Vilayet of Manastir about a presence of Albanians, but which was not dominated by the Albanian population, because in this vilayet there was a large Turkish population and other ethnic groups. Apart for the population in the Albanian lands, the newspaper also wrote about the Albanians who lived in Greece, in More, from the Middle Ages until the beginning of the XX-էհ century. Although at first glance the newspaper’s point of view, which required from Albanians to have close relations with the Ottoman Em pire and the Sultan, seems unusual at first glance, when one considers the circumstances in which this approach of the newspaper took place, it turns out that it was in the interest of the Albanians themselves, since Albanian territories were threatened with invasion by Serbia, Bulgaria, Montenegro and Greece. From this perspective, the newspaper “Dašamiri” considered the propaganda of Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece to create divisions between Albanians and Ottomans.
The newspaper also made an effort to deny the propaganda of the Balkan countries, as the Albanians were endangered by these places. This approach of the newspaper against the propaganda of the Balkan countries thus created a counter-effect, that is why the newspaper ca-
90 GAZETA “DAŠAMIRI” - “DAŠAMIRII RI” 1907-1908 lied the Greek, Bulgarian and Serbian gangs ‘ stasa t’egra” (wild ani mals), the Montenegrins called them “opinga” (traditional peasant shoes). Almost with this logic, the newspaper “Dašamiri” portrayed Italy and in some cases compared it to the Balkan countries. It des cribed Austria-Hungary as working for and caring about the welfare of the Albanian nation. The newspaper wrote constantly about the alphabet and the importance that writers attached to the alphabets, and this the newspaper described as disease, and that they saw the alphabet not as a tool but as their goal. Then the newspaper promoted publications in Albanian, whether the publication of special books or the Albanian press published outside Albania, or books related to Albania, such as the writing of Baron Nopca s book. It also wrote about the carnival events in Shkodra and about the theatre performances that took place in their schools in Albanian, such as in the school “Fretnevet ť Gjuhadolit” and “Jezuvitte”. In many articles, the newspaper wrote about the conditions in which the Albanians found themselves in national terms, and with no doubt with the sole aim of strengthening the Albanians as a nation. Whereas in the newspaper articles about different groups of the Albanian population, who according to them have no national feelings, something like this happened because of the difficult conditions in which the Albanians lived. So, according to the newspaper, the Gheg Albanians had a sense of their belonging, but their feeling did not go beyond that for
the house, the village and the tribe, so they did not have a developed feeling, which was necessary at that time. The newspaper also wrote about the good customs of the Alba nians, such as faith, hospitality, etc. The newspaper also wrote about the way of life of the Albanians of that time and criticized the Alba nians for this way of life, such as the lack of healthy food, the lack of knowledge about agriculture and forest use, actions that caused this population to emigrate without the intention of increasing the wealth in their country. Then, in addition to the education of girls, the newspaper also wrote about women in its articles, and emphasized that the most di fficult work in agriculture in many Albanian areas was done by wo men. This attitude towards women corresponded to that of some Albanian intellectuals, such as Mati Logoreci and Mid’ hat Frashëri, in the late 1920s of the XXth century.
SHPEND AVDIU 91 The newspaper also wrote about infrastructure, focusing on the Vilayet of Shkodra and Kosova. It considered the latter to be one of the richest Albanian vilayets, with a road infrastructure and railways that brought it close to Thessaloniki and other parts of the empire. The newspaper also had a special interest for the city of Skopje, which was expected to be electrified and had started building a beer factory, etc.

Almost with this logic, the newspaper “Dašamiri” portrayed Italy and in some cases compared it to the Balkan countries. It des cribed Austria-Hungary as working for and caring about the welfare of the Albanian nation. The newspaper wrote constantly about the alphabet and the importance that writers attached to the alphabets, and this the newspaper described as disease, and that they saw the alphabet not as a tool but as their goal. Then the newspaper promoted publications in Albanian, whether the publication of special books or the Albanian press published outside Albania, or books related to Albania, such as the writing of Baron Nopca's book. It also wrote about the carnival events in Shkodra and about the theatre performances that took place in their schools in Albanian, such as in the school “Fretnevet ť Gjuhadolit” and “Jezuvitte”. In many articles, the newspaper wrote about the conditions in which the Albanians found themselves in national terms, and with no doubt with the sole aim of strengthening the Albanians as a nation. Whereas in the newspaper articles about different groups of the Albanian population, who according to them have no national feelings, something like this happened because of the difficult conditions in which the Albanians lived. So, according to the newspaper, the Gheg Albanians had a sense of their belonging, but their feeling did not go beyond that for
the house, the village and the tribe, so they did not have a developed feeling, which was necessary at that time. The newspaper also wrote about the good customs of the Alba nians, such as faith, hospitality, etc. The newspaper also wrote about the way of life of the Albanians of that time and criticized the Alba nians for this way of life, such as the lack of healthy food, the lack of knowledge about agriculture and forest use, actions that caused this population to emigrate without the intention of increasing the wealth in their country. It considered the latter to be one of the richest Albanian vilayets, with a road infrastructure and railways that brought it close to Thessaloniki and other parts of the empire. The newspaper also had a special interest for the city of Skopje, which was expected to be electrified and had started building a beer factory, etc.
