Zusammenfassung:"During the latter half of the 19th century, many Danish architects who received their education at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen were active in Scania and neighboring provinces. Most returned to their homeland after completing their assignments, but one of those who remained in Sweden was the priest's son Peter Boisen (1836-1908) from Lolland. For almost fifty years he was active in Scania, from 1868 as Ystad's first city architect. The literature on the versatile and constantly active Boisen has so far been sparse. 'Peter Boisen: The Dane who characterized Ystad' initially tells about his Danish relatives and Swedish family and about his many compatriots who were active east of the Sound for shorter and longer periods, then about the large number of buildings in and outside Ystad that Boisen signed. In addition, the devastating city fires of the time and the houses that were demolished are described. The book is richly illustrated with old and new photographs, original drawings and city maps."
