Summary While we were working on the photos of the book “Gjergj Fishta Theater” (2020), were taken three or four photos that fixed Fishta in his studio. But that photos shows different studios; they differs, from “Gjuhadoli Convent”, where Fishta wrote most of his works, to that of “Arra e Madhe”, where he finished, at least, the lyrical drama “Jerina”. He must have had his studio in the “Lezha Convent”, where he gave his final hand to “Lahuta... ”and in the “Troshani Convent”, where he prepared lectures for students of “Religious College”. At that time he had just completed the University studies (1893) until was appointed director of the “Franciscan schools ofShkodra” (1902) and eventually settled in that city. Gjergj Fishta, firstly, is a poet (epic, lyrical, dramatic, and satirical poet), but he is also a prose writer [essayist, literary critic, pokmicist, and comedian - according to Moliere). Also, our National Poet has been a publicist (hefounded and directed the magazine “Hylli і Dritës”, as well as the newspaper “Posta e Shqipnisë”; colkborated and supported the “Zani і Shna Ndout” and “Gruaja Shqiptare” magazines, as well as colUborated with the magazine “Albania” ofFaik Konica, etc.). Gjergj Fishta was a prominent artist (he kft us the paintings, the architectural 387
projects applied; he did the director ofthe Franciscan Theatre, the scenographer andperformances organizer). Since 1902 he has been a dedicated lecturer (introduced the Albanian L·nguage as an education language, unified the Latin alphabet ofwritten Albanian, which we still have today, founded the Albanian-speaking theater, and consolidated the principles of Albanian oratory). But Gjergj Fishta has also been a diplomat and politician (Secretary ofthe Albanian official delegation in the Conference of Peace in Paris; member in the Balkanian Conferences in Athens, Istanbul, Bucharest (Headdelegation); member and vice-president of the first Albanian Parliament, as well as chief negotiator for recognition ofAlbania by the USA). Above all, Gjergj Fishta is a Great Albanian {as a writer and artist, as a teacher, pedagogue, and Academician, as a diplomat and politician, as a citizen and cUrgyman, as the parish priest andas a head ofthe Albanian Franciscans). According to an anecdote, written by Fishta himself (in a letter sent to P. Justin Rrota), narrate that even when traveling to America he had at his disposal a “very good” studio on the transatlantic “Cameronia”. The captain (or “il Maestro di Casa”), seeing that Mister Feshta (as his name was pronounced from the crew ofvessel) was in a cabin with “ fourpeople inside”, arranged for him a perfect office on the transatlantic, where, - as confesses Fishta, -1 could write and work whenever I want; day and night”). We do not have a photo of Fishta in this studio. But we have the song of “Lahuta... ”that was completed in that studio
(“Dervish Pasha” with 400 verses). We have, 388
also, another song of “Lahuta...” (“Lügati”), conceived in the trans-oceanic studio, for which (song) Fishta wrote that “from the aesthetic point ofview, it will come out amongst the best part of “Lahuta . And so, “Lahuta ...” as a whole became the national masterpiece of Albanian literature. Translated by Mimoza Çobanı
Sažetak Dok smo radili na fotografijama za knjigu “Kazalište Gjergj Fishta” (2020.), snimljene su tri ili četiri fotografije koje su prikazale Fištu u njegovom ateljeu. I njegov studio nije isti Njegov atelje se mjenja kako u Skupštini Gjuhadol, gdje je Fishta napisao većinu djela, u Arre e Madheu, gdje je završio, najmanje, lirsku dramu “Jerina”. Sigurno je imao svoj atelje i u Skupštini Lezha, gdje je dovršio svoj finalni rad u “Lahuti ...” i u Skupštini Troshan, gdje je pripremao predavanja za mlade đakone, kad je upravo završio studij (1893.)) dok nije imenovan ravnateljem franjevačkih škola u Skadru (1902) i na kraju se nastanio u tom gradu. Gjergj· Fishta je, prije svega, pjesnik (epski, lirski, dramski i satirični pjesnik), ali on je i prozaist (esejist, književni kritičar, polemičar i komičar - prema Moliereu). Naš nacionalni pjesnik također je bio publicist (osnovao i vodio časopis Hylli i Dritës i novine Posta e Shqipnisë, surađivao i vodio (s vremena na vrijeme) časopise “Zani i Shna Ndour” i “Gruaja shqiptare” (prva izdanja) i surađivao s časopisom Albanija iz Konice itd.). Gjergj Fishta bio je istaknuti umjetnik (ostavio nam je slike, ostvarene arhitektonske projekte; režirao u kazalište Freten, gdje je bio scenograf i organizator predstava). Predani je predavač 391
od 1902. (uveo je albanski jezik kao nasravni jezik, objedinio latinsku abecedu pisanog albanskog, koju imamo i danas, osnovao kazalište koje je govorilo albanski i postavilo temelje albanskog govorništva). Međutim, Gjergj Fishta također je bio diplomat i političar (tajnik službenog izaslanstva Albanije na Mirovnoj konferenciji u Parizu; delegat na balkanskim konferencijama u Ateni, Istanbulu, Bukureštu; član prvog albanskog parlamenta i njegov potpredsjednik, kao i glavni inicijator za priznavanje Albanije od strane SAD-a). Iznad svega, Gjergj Fishta je Veliki Albanac (kao književnik i umjetnik, kao učitelj, pedagog i akademik, kao diplomat i političar, kao građanin i duhovnik, jednostavan a provincijal na čelu franjevaca Albanije). Anegdota, koju je napisao sam Fishta (u pismu, upućenom P. Justinu Rroti), sugerira da je čak i kad je putovao u Ameriku prekoadantskom “Cameronijom”, na raspolaganju imao “vrlo jak” studio. Kapetan (ili “ii Maestro di Casa”), vidjevši da je gospodin Feshta (kako je njegovo ime izgovoreno na parobrodu) bio u kabini s “četvero ljudi unutra”, izdao mu je vrlo dobar ured za parobrod, gdje sam, priznaje Fishta, - mogoa pisati i raditi danonoćno, kad god želim”). U ovom studiju nemamo fotografije Fishte. Da, imamo pjesmu “Lahuta ...” koja je dovršena u tom studiju (“Derviš Paša” s 400 stihova). Imamo još jednu pjesmu “Lahuta...” (“Lugari”), pokrenutu u prekooceanskom studiju, za koju (pjesma) Fishta piše da će, s estetskog gledišta, izaći među najbolje od Lahute. ”1 tako je postala cijela,, Lahuta e Malds”. 392

Summary While we were working on the photos of the book “Gjergj Fishta Theater” (2020), were taken three or four photos that fixed Fishta in his studio. But that photos shows different studios; they differs, from “Gjuhadoli Convent”, where Fishta wrote most of his works, to that of “Arra e Madhe”, where he finished, at least, the lyrical drama “Jerina”. He must have had his studio in the “Lezha Convent”, where he gave his final hand to “Lahuta. ”and in the “Troshani Convent”, where he prepared lectures for students of “Religious College”. At that time he had just completed the University studies (1893) until was appointed director of the “Franciscan schools ofShkodra” (1902) and eventually settled in that city. Gjergj Fishta, firstly, is a poet (epic, lyrical, dramatic, and satirical poet), but he is also a prose writer [essayist, literary critic, pokmicist, and comedian - according to Moliere). Also, our National Poet has been a publicist (hefounded and directed the magazine “Hylli і Dritës”, as well as the newspaper “Posta e Shqipnisë”; colkborated and supported the “Zani і Shna Ndout” and “Gruaja Shqiptare” magazines, as well as colUborated with the magazine “Albania” ofFaik Konica, etc.). Gjergj Fishta was a prominent artist (he kft us the paintings, the architectural 387
projects applied; he did the director ofthe Franciscan Theatre, the scenographer andperformances organizer). Since 1902 he has been a dedicated lecturer (introduced the Albanian L·nguage as an education language, unified the Latin alphabet ofwritten Albanian, which we still have today, founded the Albanian-speaking theater, and consolidated the principles of Albanian oratory). But Gjergj Fishta has also been a diplomat and politician (Secretary ofthe Albanian official delegation in the Conference of Peace in Paris; member in the Balkanian Conferences in Athens, Istanbul, Bucharest (Headdelegation); member and vice-president of the first Albanian Parliament, as well as chief negotiator for recognition ofAlbania by the USA). Above all, Gjergj Fishta is a Great Albanian {as a writer and artist, as a teacher, pedagogue, and Academician, as a diplomat and politician, as a citizen and cUrgyman, as the parish priest andas a head ofthe Albanian Franciscans). According to an anecdote, written by Fishta himself (in a letter sent to P. Justin Rrota), narrate that even when traveling to America he had at his disposal a “very good” studio on the transatlantic “Cameronia”. The captain (or “il Maestro di Casa”), seeing that Mister Feshta (as his name was pronounced from the crew ofvessel) was in a cabin with “ fourpeople inside”, arranged for him a perfect office on the transatlantic, where, - as confesses Fishta, -1 could write and work whenever I want; day and night”). We do not have a photo of Fishta in this studio. But we have the song of “Lahuta. ”that was completed in that studio
(“Dervish Pasha” with 400 verses). We have, 388
also, another song of “Lahuta.” (“Lügati”), conceived in the trans-oceanic studio, for which (song) Fishta wrote that “from the aesthetic point ofview, it will come out amongst the best part of “Lahuta". Sažetak Dok smo radili na fotografijama za knjigu “Kazalište Gjergj Fishta” (2020.), snimljene su tri ili četiri fotografije koje su prikazale Fištu u njegovom ateljeu. Naš nacionalni pjesnik također je bio publicist (osnovao i vodio časopis Hylli i Dritës i novine Posta e Shqipnisë, surađivao i vodio (s vremena na vrijeme) časopise “Zani i Shna Ndour” i “Gruaja shqiptare” (prva izdanja) i surađivao s časopisom Albanija iz Konice itd.). Gjergj Fishta bio je istaknuti umjetnik (ostavio nam je slike, ostvarene arhitektonske projekte; režirao u kazalište Freten, gdje je bio scenograf i organizator predstava). Predani je predavač 391
od 1902. (uveo je albanski jezik kao nasravni jezik, objedinio latinsku abecedu pisanog albanskog, koju imamo i danas, osnovao kazalište koje je govorilo albanski i postavilo temelje albanskog govorništva). Međutim, Gjergj Fishta također je bio diplomat i političar (tajnik službenog izaslanstva Albanije na Mirovnoj konferenciji u Parizu; delegat na balkanskim konferencijama u Ateni, Istanbulu, Bukureštu; član prvog albanskog parlamenta i njegov potpredsjednik, kao i glavni inicijator za priznavanje Albanije od strane SAD-a). Iznad svega, Gjergj Fishta je Veliki Albanac (kao književnik i umjetnik, kao učitelj, pedagog i akademik, kao diplomat i političar, kao građanin i duhovnik, jednostavan a provincijal na čelu franjevaca Albanije).
