| Zusammenfassung: | Bei der Entwicklung von Megastädten wird die Wichtigkeit von zivilgesellschaftlich initiierten bottom-up-Ansätzen oft ebenso unterschätzt wie die Bedeutung der lokalen Ebene als Umsetzungsebene. Anhand von sieben Fallstudien des Future-Megacities-Programms zur Anpassung an den Klimawandel und zur Reduzierung von Treibhausgas-Emissionen zeigt dieser Band, wie Bürger vor Ort zu Beteiligung und aktivem Handeln motiviert werden können. Die Fallstudien vermitteln Erfahrungen aus Pilotprojekten und Aktionsforschung, aber auch die Geschichten hinter den Aktivitäten und Kooperationsprozessen und die daraus gewonnenen Erkenntnisse.
