Zusammenfassung: | "The Dalmatian coast of the Adriatic and its vast Balkan hinterland were an integral part of medieval Europe, both in a geographical and historical sense. However, due to issues of language and a scarcity of sources, the whole region has largely remained bout of sight and overlooked by western historiography. This volume features contributions from an exciting new generation of medievalists, who are working to rectify this gap in the narrative. As a small, landlocked country, medieval Bosnia managed to preserve its individuality, characterized by religious plurality and by the persistence of its own ancient customs. But its central position in the region, situated between east and west, and where boundaries between Catholic and Orthodox Christianity were demarcated deep into the Middle Ages, meant it was heavily influenced by both sides of this civilizational divide and politically and culturally shaped by the Venetian Republic, the Hungarian Kingdom, and the Byzantine Empire" - Hinterdeckel |

But its central position in the region, situated between east and west, and where boundaries between Catholic and Orthodox Christianity were demarcated deep into the Middle Ages, meant it was heavily influenced by both sides of this civilizational divide and politically and culturally shaped by the Venetian Republic, the Hungarian Kingdom, and the Byzantine Empire" - However, due to issues of language and a scarcity of sources, the whole region has largely remained bout of sight and overlooked by western historiography. This volume features contributions from an exciting new generation of medievalists, who are working to rectify this gap in the narrative. As a small, landlocked country, medieval Bosnia managed to preserve its individuality, characterized by religious plurality and by the persistence of its own ancient customs. But its central position in the region, situated between east and west, and where boundaries between Catholic and Orthodox Christianity were demarcated deep into the Middle Ages, meant it was heavily influenced by both sides of this civilizational divide and politically and culturally shaped by the Venetian Republic, the Hungarian Kingdom, and the Byzantine Empire" - Hinterdeckel Geschichte 1200-1580 gnd rswk-swf Religion (DE-588)4049396-9 gnd rswk-swf Kulturbeziehungen (DE-588)4033552-5 gnd rswk-swf Internationale Politik (DE-588)4072885-7 gnd rswk-swf Bosnien (DE-588)4007826-7 gnd rswk-swf Südosteuropa (DE-588)4058449-5 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Bosnien (DE-588)4007826-7 g Südosteuropa (DE-588)4058449-5 g Internationale Politik (DE-588)4072885-7 s Religion (DE-588)4049396-9 s Kulturbeziehungen (DE-588)4033552-5 s Geschichte 1200-1580 z DE-604 Dautović, Dženan 1980- (DE-588)1138463264 edt Filipović, Emir O. 1984- (DE-588)1187004758 edt Isailović, Neven 1981- (DE-588)1209138565 edt Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 978-1-64189-023-6 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=031592488&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=031592488&sequence=000003&line_number=0002&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Register // Gemischte Register |
