Summary:Increasing public concern has focused in recent years on the issue of sexual abuse of children, as the magnitude of the problem and the implications for all children become more thoroughly documented. In addressing this difficult issue Benjamin Schlesinger brings together ten new essays from authorities in the field and an annotated bibliography of writings on the subject since 1980. The essays offer a variety of perspectives on prevention, intervention, treatment of offenders, self-help for victims, and the positions of government and the general public. The bibliography includes over 300 items, organized by subject. They include books, booklets, journal articles, and reports published in Canada and the United States over the past five years. A selected list of audio-visual materials is also included. A sequel to Schlesinger's 1982 work, Sexual Abuse of Children, this volume constitutes a comprehensive guide to current resources in a critical area of social work and related disciplines
