Zusammenfassung: | While policy makers need to be focused on achieving and sustaining basic macroeconomic stability in the transition of economies from a socialist to a market orientation, financial institutions and reforms play a particularly crucial role in this transformation. The essays in this collection offer overviews of issues in banking sector reform and capital markets as well as specific perspectives on the financial sectors in changing economies of Central and Eastern Europe, China and Israel. The editors and contributors explore the questions of how much focus needs to be given to macroeconomic stabilization vis-à-vis the dynamics of the financial sector, what may be appropriate time frames for dealing with immediate and longer-term financial problems, and how trends toward economic globalization interact with financial development in transition countries. Original versions of the essays were presented at the Second Dubrovnik Conference on Transition Economies organized by the National Bank of Croatia in June 1996 |

Frenkel -- The financial sector in transition / Mario Blejer While policy makers need to be focused on achieving and sustaining basic macroeconomic stability in the transition of economies from a socialist to a market orientation, financial institutions and reforms play a particularly crucial role in this transformation. Original versions of the essays were presented at the Second Dubrovnik Conference on Transition Economies organized by the National Bank of Croatia in June 1996 Bank Finance / Europe, Eastern / Congresses Finance / Israel / Congresses Finance / China / Congresses Banks and banking / Europe, Eastern / Congresses Banks and banking / Israel / Congresses Banks and banking / China / Congresses Kreditwesen (DE-588)4032950-1 gnd rswk-swf Reform (DE-588)4115716-3 gnd rswk-swf China (DE-588)4009937-4 gnd rswk-swf Israel (DE-588)4027808-6 gnd rswk-swf Osteuropa (DE-588)4075739-0 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift gnd-content Israel (DE-588)4027808-6 g Kreditwesen (DE-588)4032950-1 s Reform (DE-588)4115716-3 s 1\p DE-604 China (DE-588)4009937-4 g 2\p DE-604 Osteuropa (DE-588)4075739-0 g 3\p DE-604 Bléjer, Mario I. edt Skreb, Marko 1957- edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-08822-0 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-64037-4 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511896699 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
