Zusammenfassung: | Early modern pamphlets serve as an important vehicle for examining print culture, particularly the historical entanglement between the technology of print and a developing capitalism. Attention to the controversies surrounding their circulation reveals that pamphlets became a focus for anxieties about print culture in general. Alexandra Halasz combines close readings of pamphlets by Robert Greene, Thomas Nashe, Gabriel Harvey, Thomas Deloney and John Taylor, among others, with a discussion of the history and deployment of print technology and its specifically English organization as a monopoly. Taking account of the theoretical and historical issues surrounding textual property, authorship and publicity, The Marketplace of Print, first published in 1997, is both a work of historical recovery and a reflection on the ongoing problems of the relationship between the marketplace and the public sphere |

Taking account of the theoretical and historical issues surrounding textual property, authorship and publicity, The Marketplace of Print, first published in 1997, is both a work of historical recovery and a reflection on the ongoing problems of the relationship between the marketplace and the public sphere Geschichte 1600-1700 Geschichte 1500-1600 Geschichte 1580-1640 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte Gesellschaft Pamphlets / Publishing / England / History / 16th century Pamphlets / Publishing / England / History / 17th century Printing / Social aspects / England / History / 16th century Printing / Social aspects / England / History / 17th century Public opinion / England / History / 16th century Public opinion / England / History / 17th century Authorship / History / 16th century Authorship / History / 17th century Pamphlet (DE-588)4173163-3 gnd rswk-swf Englisch (DE-588)4014777-0 gnd rswk-swf Buchmarkt (DE-588)4121054-2 gnd rswk-swf Flugblatt (DE-588)4071280-1 gnd rswk-swf England (DE-588)4014770-8 gnd rswk-swf Englisch (DE-588)4014777-0 s Flugblatt (DE-588)4071280-1 s Geschichte 1580-1640 z 1\p DE-604 England (DE-588)4014770-8 g Buchmarkt (DE-588)4121054-2 s 2\p DE-604 Pamphlet (DE-588)4173163-3 s 3\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-03470-8 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-58209-4 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9780511581892 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
