Zusammenfassung: | In this theoretically original work, two distinguished authors explore the mutual interdependence of states and firms throughout the world. They show how global structural changes - in finance, technology, knowledge and politics - often impel governments to seek the help and cooperation of managers of multinational enterprises. Yet, as Professors Stopford and Strange demonstrate, this is constrained by each country's economic resources, its social structures and its political history. Based on grass-roots research into the experience of over 50 multinationals and more than 100 investment projects in three developing countries- Brazil, Malaysia and Kenya - the authors develop a matrix of agendas. They present the impact on projects of the multiple factors affecting the bargaining relationships between the government and the foreign firm at different times and in a variety of economic sectors. In conclusion they offer some guidelines for actions to both governments and firms and some points to future interdisciplinary research |

In conclusion they offer some guidelines for actions to both governments and firms and some points to future interdisciplinary research Entwicklungsländer Multinationales Unternehmen Politik Weltwirtschaft International business enterprises / Developing countries Investments, Foreign / Government policy / Developing countries Competition, International Wirtschaftsbeziehungen (DE-588)4068297-3 gnd rswk-swf Weltmarkt (DE-588)4117627-3 gnd rswk-swf Internationale Wettbewerbsfähigkeit (DE-588)4027386-6 gnd rswk-swf Internationaler Wettbewerb (DE-588)4027415-9 gnd rswk-swf Multinationales Unternehmen (DE-588)4075092-9 gnd rswk-swf Auslandsinvestition (DE-588)4003772-1 gnd rswk-swf Developing countries / International economic relations Entwicklungsländer (DE-588)4014954-7 gnd rswk-swf Weltmarkt (DE-588)4117627-3 s Internationaler Wettbewerb (DE-588)4027415-9 s Entwicklungsländer (DE-588)4014954-7 g Multinationales Unternehmen (DE-588)4075092-9 s Auslandsinvestition (DE-588)4003772-1 s 1\p DE-604 Wirtschaftsbeziehungen (DE-588)4068297-3 s 2\p DE-604 Internationale Wettbewerbsfähigkeit (DE-588)4027386-6 s 3\p DE-604 Strange, Susan 1923-1998 Sonstige oth Henley, John S.
