Zusammenfassung: | Paths of Continuity examines the impact of the Third Reich on the German historical profession before and after 1945. The essays look at ten prominent historians whose lives and work spanned the period from the 1930s to the 1960s. Their response to the Nazi regime ranged from open resistance to willing collaboration. Ironically, however, much of the impetus for scholarly innovation after 1945 came from historians with earlier ties to the antiliberal 'folk history' of the Nazi era. All in all, this insightful collection of essays provides fresh insight into the development of West German historical scholarship since 1945 |

All in all, this insightful collection of essays provides fresh insight into the development of West German historical scholarship since 1945 Geschichte 1900-2000 Geschichte 1930-1960 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte Historiography / Germany / History / 20th century Historiography / Austria / History / 20th century Historians / Germany / History / 20th century Historians / Austria / History / 20th century Nationalsozialismus (DE-588)4041316-0 gnd rswk-swf Geschichtsschreibung (DE-588)4020531-9 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte (DE-588)4020517-4 gnd rswk-swf Geschichtswissenschaft (DE-588)4020535-6 gnd rswk-swf Deutschland Österreich Germany / Historiography Austria / Historiography Germany / Intellectual life / 20th century Austria / Intellectual life / 20th century Österreich (DE-588)4043271-3 gnd rswk-swf Deutschland (DE-588)4011882-4 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift 1990 Atlanta Ga. gnd-content 2\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Österreich (DE-588)4043271-3 g Nationalsozialismus (DE-588)4041316-0 s Geschichte (DE-588)4020517-4 s Geschichtsschreibung (DE-588)4020531-9 s Geschichte 1930-1960 z 3\p DE-604 Deutschland (DE-588)4011882-4 g 4\p DE-604 Geschichtswissenschaft (DE-588)4020535-6 s 5\p DE-604 Lehmann, Hartmut 1936- edt Melton, James Van Horn 1952- edt Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-45199-4 Erscheint auch als Druckausgabe 978-0-521-53121-4 https://doi.org/10.1017/CBO9781139052610 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 5\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
