505 | 8 | |a "Eighteenth-century Sweden was deeply involved in the process of globalisation: ships leaving Sweden's central ports exported bar iron that would drive the Industrial Revolution, whilst arriving ships would bring not only exotic goods and commodities to Swedish consumers, but also new ideas and cultural practices with them. At the same time, Sweden was an agricultural country to a large extent governed by self-subsistence, and -- for most -- wealth was created within this structure. This volume brings together a group of scholars from a range of disciplinary backgrounds who seek to present a more nuanced and elaborated picture of the Swedish cosmopolitan eighteenth century. Together they paint a picture of Sweden that is more like the one eighteenth-century intellectuals imagined, and help to situate Sweden in histories of cosmopolitanism of the wider world."--Provided by publisher | |

Together they paint a picture of Sweden that is more like the one eighteenth-century intellectuals imagined, and help to situate Sweden in histories of cosmopolitanism of the wider world."--Provided by publisher 1700 - 1799 fast Geschichte 1700-1800 Geschichte 1800-1900 Geschichte 1700-1800 gnd rswk-swf Cosmopolitanism / Sweden / History / 18th century Sweden / Civilization / 18th century Sweden / Civilization / 19th century Sweden / Social life and customs / 18th century HISTORY / Europe / Scandinavia bisacsh Civilization fast Cosmopolitanism fast Manners and customs fast Alltag, Brauchtum Geschichte Cosmopolitanism Sweden History 18th century Kulturaustausch (DE-588)4165964-8 gnd rswk-swf Handel (DE-588)4023222-0 gnd rswk-swf Weltbürgertum (DE-588)4189574-5 gnd rswk-swf Europa Schweden Skandinavien Schweden (DE-588)4077258-5 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Schweden (DE-588)4077258-5 g Weltbürgertum (DE-588)4189574-5 s Kulturaustausch (DE-588)4165964-8 s Handel (DE-588)4023222-0 s Geschichte 1700-1800 z 2\p DE-604 Rydén, Göran edt Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe Sweden in the eighteenth-century world 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
