They set up a defense for the inherent tensions between the museological and the contemporary of a contemporary art museum, and argue that their collections can in fact attain a novel significance in an institutional landscape in which the condition of the Kunsthalle isincreasingly generalized. Six vignettes describe provocative scenarios for museum institutions and infrastructures, each responding to particularities and contingencies of both territorial reality and collecting, while articulating diverse profiled integrations of conservation, presentation and study of contemporary art collections. |
