Summary:Nicolás Fuentes goes to prison as the result of the betrayal of Ramón Santoro, Rosendo Juárez and his own wife, La Lujanera. Before he died as a prisoner, he tells his story to another inmate named Francisco Real, better known as "El Corralero", a handsome man from the district of San Telmo. Shortly thereafter, Real goes free thanks to receiving a pardon on the occasion of the centenary celebrations. Amidst the celebrations, the ex-convict assassinates an unknown thug. When Real discovers that the dead man is no other than the same Santoro, he understands that unwittingly he has turned into an instrument of the vengeance of Fuentes
