| Beschreibung: | The present volume collects the review and contributed papers presented at the Europhysics Study Conferenee "Accretion Disks and Magnetic Fields in Astrophysics" held in Noto, Sicily, Italy, from 16 to 21 June 1988, under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republie and the local patronage of the Centro di Studi Superiori e di Ricerche (Center for Advanced Study and Research), a scientific institution supported by the City of Nota and the University of Catania. The attendance to the Conference was limited to about fifty selected participants from Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany F.R., Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States, in order to give the meeting the character and appearance of a real workshop, whose main aim was to highlight a varied but somewhat unified picture of the interaction, in different astrophysical systems, of rotation, turbulence and magnetism, with specific reference to accretion disks |
