The book investigates theories dating from the 13th to the 18th century on the moral indifference of human action with a view to substantiating the hypothesis of a heterogeneous genealogy of the specifically modern concept of 'aesthetics'. Aesthetic discourse on art did not develop of its own self and in its own right but was essentially based on genuinely moral-theological concepts (or concepts evolving in the context of moral theology) relating to the eventuality of human action being adiaphoric in origin. Both in methodological terms and in conjunction with its subject, this study proposes an aetiology, rather than a pre-history, of aesthetic thinking Review text: "This indispensable study provides a thorough and valuable examination of an important phase in the history of ideas and religion that is highly relevant for the development of modern aesthetic theory."Sabine Mödersheim in: The Sixtheen Century Journal 3/2008 |

Both in methodological terms and in conjunction with its subject, this study proposes an aetiology, rather than a pre-history, of aesthetic thinking Review text: "This indispensable study provides a thorough and valuable examination of an important phase in the history of ideas and religion that is highly relevant for the development of modern aesthetic theory."Sabine Mödersheim in: The Sixtheen Century Journal 3/2008 Luther, Martin 1483-1546 (DE-588)118575449 gnd rswk-swf Johannes Duns Scotus 1266-1308 (DE-588)118528165 gnd rswk-swf Vockerodt, Gottfried 1665-1727 (DE-588)117448672 gnd rswk-swf Rotth, Albrecht Christian 1651-1701 (DE-588)115378510 gnd rswk-swf Thomas von Aquin, Heiliger 1225-1274 (DE-588)118622110 gnd rswk-swf Flacius, Matthias 1520-1575 (DE-588)118533649 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1200-1800 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1520-1730 gnd rswk-swf Esthetica gtt Ästhetik Adiaphora Art and religion Theologische Ethik (DE-588)4078249-9 gnd rswk-swf Moral (DE-588)4040222-8 gnd rswk-swf Kunst (DE-588)4114333-4 gnd rswk-swf Protestantismus (DE-588)4047538-4 gnd rswk-swf Indifferenz (DE-588)4125001-1 gnd rswk-swf Adiaphora (DE-588)4393028-1 gnd rswk-swf Ästhetik (DE-588)4000626-8 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)4113937-9 Hochschulschrift gnd-content Ästhetik (DE-588)4000626-8 s Moral (DE-588)4040222-8 s Indifferenz (DE-588)4125001-1 s Geschichte 1200-1800 z DE-604 Kunst (DE-588)4114333-4 s Adiaphora (DE-588)4393028-1 s Theologische Ethik (DE-588)4078249-9 s Protestantismus (DE-588)4047538-4 s Geschichte 1520-1730 z Thomas von Aquin, Heiliger 1225-1274 (DE-588)118622110 p Johannes Duns Scotus 1266-1308 (DE-588)118528165 p Luther, Martin 1483-1546 (DE-588)118575449 p Flacius, Matthias 1520-1575 (DE-588)118533649 p Vockerodt, Gottfried 1665-1727 (DE-588)117448672 p Rotth, Albrecht Christian 1651-1701 (DE-588)115378510 p 1\p DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 978-3-484-36607-7 Frühe Neuzeit 107 (DE-604)BV042549032 107 https://doi.org/10.1515/9783110947335 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
