SUMMARY
Geographical position, appropriate conditions or life, atural
sesources, favorite climate etc, have determined that the municipalities
of Ferizaj, Shtime and Shterpca to be inhabited form immemorial times
and that created this place in lots of dwellings. In many locations if
there were arheological resarches to be done, many facts would be
found on the early dwellings. But many dwellings during the past,
because of the wars, diseases, fires, earthquakes etc.., were destroyed or
deserted, therefore with the creation of conditions in these dwellings or
somewhere close to these dwellings new buildidngs were made.
Dwellings of this territory with some with few exceptions either
they are a continuum of direct continuity or with few a little of
discontinuance retained that continuum from the antique till nowadays.
Stroms of the history, most of them made that they are saved only as
main relicts, and in thair realm dwelling life continued even with the
new designations - often changed by invaders.
In the past history, as it is known, in Kosova region and even
wider in Ballkan was inhabited by Illyrians, Albanian ancestors.
Invasions, migrations, huge or sporadic fluxes of the different nations
during the history impacted that his body of Illyrian land became
narrowed. With this the population structure started to change in these
territories. Meanwhile, lots of dwellings incurred changes also, in view,
form, dimension etc.
In this volume, were 44 dwellings are included from munici-
pality of Ferizaj, 23 from municipality of Shtime and 16 from
municipality of Shterpca— Shortly meaning, there are some
characteristics that occurred in dwellings, by including geographical
position, extension, families or districts, some more characteristic
microtoponymics, arheological findings, archival and historical
resources, statistical data, population displacement out of inhabitans
was not presented, their displacement etc..., because for this it is
required a complex studying, I think that the new generations have to
do it, based on these data and other data too.
The issuse of dwellings requires special studying and it means
facing and interlacing of data’s and results of researches in field.

Research work in the field it is a necessity, because only in this way
new resource data can be gathered fro the life and from the population
for their past and current situation.
Research methods that I have chosen first was the researching
of archival and literacy documents that shows data about the dwellings,
historical and new resources, direct research of the land in every
dwellings. Data were taken through questionnaires that were sent to
different people and data from Municipal Council Authorities. Used
magterials in archives, literture and field research I have tried to
evaluate them as best and real as I could. Depeniding on the data tha
we have, were also given evidences for appropriate dwelling.
This book will be useful for the future researches to explore
dwellings one by one in a complex way in all aspects, from the creation
till today.
In this volume, dwelling names are presented based on the
studies and approvals of the Central Commission for Standardization of
the place names and Municipality Commission for dwellings
nomination. In backets, it is presented the old name of the place (for
those that were changed).
This volume will be published on the level of monographic
studying of dwellings in Kosova.
In the territory of above mentioned municipalities, depended
from the field configuraion are also the types of dwellings. In field
localities they are mainly comulative but also scattered.
Today, the network of Ferizaj, Shtimme and Shterpce is made
by municipal administrative centers of Ferizaj, Shtime and Shterpce,
local centres, dwellings, districts and home groups.
