From the delicacy of the wild flowers to the secrecy of the
kloof -dwelling leopards, Vincent Carruthers describes the
fauna and flora of the Magaliesberg and the relationships
between species and their environment.
He traces the history of man in these mountains,
provides archaeological glimpses into ancient cultures and
relates the horror and heroism of battles between Ndebele,
Tswana, Boer and Briton.
Hundreds of photographs and line drawings enhance
