King's County, the 12th of September, 1734: Mr. Zenger; I received two days ago a letter from some of my brother trades-men in the city, desiring that I would give them my opinion anent the next election now just by, for the chusing aldermen, &c. the which I did as well as I conld [sic]. I know, such a thing will be heard of, and a great many people may mistake, and it may be tell the story wrong: so I thought it best to send you their letter to me, and mine to them, that the truth may be known.
