Beschreibung:Another issue, identical in content and typography, has imprint: Printed and sold by Norman and White ... The Norman and White issue lacks the comma after "country" in the title. - Drake, M. Almanacs, 3335. - Erroneously attributed to David Rittenhouse by Evans. The actual author was Daniel George. The calculations in the eclipse predictions and on the calendar pages are identical with those in his An almanack for 1784 (Boston), except for a few differences of one minute in the times for the moon's rising and setting. Most of the calendar page notes, especially the astronomical notes, are also identical, except that the aspects are omitted in Weatherwise. - Evans, 18163. - Publishers' proposal for the Boston magazine, dated Sept. 20, 1783, p. [2]. - The notes include calculations for the rising and setting of the "Yard L", or Yard and Ell (the belt of Orion), and of the "Eagle's Heart" (Altair). The former, in Massachusetts almanacs, are found at this time only in the work of George and of Nathaniel Low, and the latter only in George. - Woodcut illustrated cover, "Washington--Victory doth thy trumpets sound, who are with laurels cover'd round!"
