THE MYCOBACTERIAL SIDEROPHORES MYCOBACTIN, CARBOXYMYCOBACTIN, AND
EXOCHELIN. THE STRUCTURAL CHARACTERIZATION OF THE MYCOBACTERIAL
SIDEROPHORES IS DESCRIBED. THE GENES SO FAR IDENTIFIED AS ESSENTIAL
FOR IRON ACQUISITION AND MAINTENANCE OF AN INFECTION BY PATHOGENIC
MYCOBACTERIA ARE DISCUSSED. THE POTENTIAL ROLE OF SIDEROCALIN IN IRON
