Summary
The man is nowadays a growing threat to the ecosystem and becomes a threat to
himself, what can be seen through destruction of plant and animal species, excessive
depletion of natural goods and production of huge amounts of waste. The mere surviv¬
al of the man imposes the change in behaviour towards the natural environment. The
first issue we consider here is connected to the character of knowledge that enables
this kind of destruction.
Knowledge in modern times is perceived as a tool for subduing the nature in fa¬
vour of the man, whereas every activity in this direction got the moral justification.
However, in the ending phase of modern times this has been shown not only as a de¬
struction of natural environment, but as a danger to the survival of the man himself.
This situation has imposed the need for reconsideration of the modern paradigm of
knowledge, the way we use knowledge end ethical assessment and use regarding the
destructive impacts, not only in natural, but also in
socio-cultural
environment. On
the other hand, the basis in anthropocentrism has also the traditional ethics that has
diminished the circle of moral responsibility and the area of standardizing of human
behaviour to the man and social relations, so that in this area new ethical positions are
created that have spread this circle of moral responsibility onto other living beings and
natural environment. The framework of traditional ethics does not allow the spread¬
ing of the moral subject concept, due to the fact that the moral subject within this
framework is only the man. The ethical theories that would be directed towards the
spreading of moral subject, e.g. onto animals, plants and the life itself, would not be
based and connected enough with the ethical tradition and would in that way lose their
normative power. However, all these various theoretical impulses indicate the need
for establishment of new paradigm of knowledge and responsible relation of the man
towards the natural environment.
In relation to this the task of this work is questioning the concept of traditional
knowledge from the historical, social, cultural, epistemological and scientific-theoreti¬
cal point of view, due to the fact that the paradigm of knowledge, apart from deter¬
mination of the epoch, determinates the whole functioning of the man. This work is
not interested in functioning of relation of man towards the natural environment. The
creation of new ethical theory has to be based on the construction of the new paradigm
of knowledge. For this we need, on the one hand, to question the circumstances of
creation and ways of functioning of the current paradigm of knowledge my using the

possibility of holistic and
integrative
thinking, and on the other hand, try to set up the
framework for creation of new paradigm of knowledge.
The framework in which this is possible to do is connected to the concept of plu-
ri-perspectivism that is the methodological determination of
integrative bioethics.
It
enables development of the orientational knowledge paradigm with implanted moral
scruple, whose main task is to create new sensibility towards the life and creating the
responsible relation of man towards the natural environment. By changing the para¬
digm
oí
knowledge as power into the paradigm of knowledge as responsibility changes
the practical relation of man towards his natural environment: the principle of ruling
the nature that as a final consequence ends in the destruction of natural environment
turns into the imperative of nature protection. On practical level the important role
have here the concepts of democracy, decentralisation and
regionalisation,
as practical
tools to implement the new sensibility that has to become the frame for the new rela¬
tion of man towards natural environment in concrete circumstances of human life.
