Zusammenfassung: | "Many societies use labor market coordination to maximize economic growth and equality, yet employers' willing cooperation with government and labor is something of a mystery. The Political Construction of Corporate Interests recounts employers' struggles to define their collective social identities at turning points in capitalist development. Employers are most likely to support social investments in countries with strong peak business associations, that help members form collective preferences and realize policy goals in labor market negotiations. Politicians, with incentives shaped by governmental structures, took the initiative in association-building and those that created the strongest associations were motivated to evade labor radicalism and to preempt parliamentary democratization. Sweeping in its historical and cross-national reach, the book builds on original archival data, interviews, and cross-national quantitative analyses. The research has important implications for the construction of business as a social class and powerful ramifications for equality, welfare state restructuring and social solidarity"--Provided by publisher |

Social solidarity after the crisis of finance capitalism "Many societies use labor market coordination to maximize economic growth and equality, yet employers' willing cooperation with government and labor is something of a mystery. The research has important implications for the construction of business as a social class and powerful ramifications for equality, welfare state restructuring and social solidarity"--Provided by publisher Geschichte gnd rswk-swf Industrial policy / Case studies Industrial relations / Case studies Manpower policy / Case studies Corporate state / Case studies POLITICAL SCIENCE / General bisacsh Arbeitgeber fes Berufsverband fes Unternehmer fes Wirtschaftsgeschichte fes Arbeitgeber (DE-588)4002613-9 gnd rswk-swf Arbeitsbeziehungen (DE-588)4002617-6 gnd rswk-swf Interessenausgleich (DE-588)4027278-3 gnd rswk-swf Interessenvertretung (DE-588)4120500-5 gnd rswk-swf Arbeitsmarkt (DE-588)4002733-8 gnd rswk-swf Dänemark fes Großbritannien fes USA fes Dänemark (DE-588)4010877-6 gnd rswk-swf Großbritannien (DE-588)4022153-2 gnd rswk-swf Deutschland (DE-588)4011882-4 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)4522595-3 Fallstudiensammlung gnd-content Dänemark (DE-588)4010877-6 g Großbritannien (DE-588)4022153-2 g Deutschland (DE-588)4011882-4 g Arbeitsmarkt (DE-588)4002733-8 s Arbeitgeber (DE-588)4002613-9 s Interessenvertretung (DE-588)4120500-5 s Interessenausgleich (DE-588)4027278-3 s Arbeitsbeziehungen (DE-588)4002617-6 s Geschichte z DE-604 Swank, Duane Verfasser (DE-588)170145115 aut Digitalisierung UB Bamberg - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=024896474&sequence=000002&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis |
