SUMMARY
Contra factum
non datur
argumentum
(Against facts there are no arguments)
Only the truth can kill a lie. Reconciliation, developing
°f good-neighborly relations, and elimination of cases of
dispute are possible only if based on the truth. And, if the
lull truth is not established, Srebrenica will certainly be one
of the cases of dispute.
For now we have at least two truths. One represented
by the Muslim side and the Prosecution of the Hague Tri¬
bunal, with a clear and undivided support of some Western
countries, claiming that the Muslims of Srebrenica are the
victims of a genocide. And another represented by the
greater part of the Serbian public, which rejects the geno¬
cide, but does not claim that there were no single war
crimes and crimes against humanity. There cannot be sev¬
eral truths. The truth is only one. No one has a privileged
right and the monopoly over truth. It is the foundation of
law and justice and, as such, is the universal property. Ser¬
bian victims in Srebrenica and its surroundings are treated
as non-existing, as no one asks for responsibility and apol¬
ogy for them.
Naser
Orić,
the commander of
R
ВІН
A 28th
division, who is the most responsible for the Serbian vic¬
tims, was acquitted by the tribunal in the Hague. The kill-
169
ing of Serbs seems not to be a crime, and, historically
speaking, is not punishable.
Previous information on events in and around Srebreni¬
ca in
1995
is mainly related to
8,000,
allegedly executed
militarily capable Muslim men and to the genocide against
the Muslims of Srebrenica, which was allegedly carried out
by the
Republika
Srpska
Army (USA). However, other
facts about the Muslim Srebrenica victims are not known or
not available to the public. And they should be, if the prin¬
ciple of objectivity
ofinformation
is respected. That is why
I will, at this point, mention only some of the facts related
to the Muslim victims in Srebrenica. The abundance of
them is contained in my manuscript study entitled Sre¬
brenica
-
genocide against the truth. This is how some
facts about the Muslim population of Srebrenica look be¬
fore and after the operation of the RSA on the Srebrenica
enclave. (The term population of Srebrenica means the
entire population of the enclave-protected zone of Srebreni¬
ca)
In January
1994
in Srebrenica there was a total of
37,255
inhabitants, (document number
01-05/94,
date: IIі
January
1994,
sent to the Statistical Office of
Tuzla,
for
keeping records of population by the President of the Presi¬
dium of town Srebrenica).
16,708
of these people were
those who emigrated from the territory of neighboring mu¬
nicipalities at the beginning of war in Bosnia-Herzegovina,
and
20,547
are the locals. In the same document, em¬
ployees of the Statistical Office of
Tuzla
are reminded not
to show these data to the international organizations, be¬
cause they, as stated in the document, are calculating with
the number of
45.000.
If
37,255
is the number of inhabi¬
tants;
11,394
to
12,350 (60%
to
65%
of the total number
1-70
of men) are militarily capable men
(15
to
64
years old
),
and if the number of inhabitants is
45,000; 14,917
to
13,762
are militarily capable men.
In January
1995
in Srebrenica there was a total of
36,005
inhabitants,
11,495
of whom were men from
18
to
60
years of age (Document of the Municipal Civil Protec¬
tion Staff of the Srebrenica municipality, number
04-45/95,
date:
11*
January
1995,
which was sent to the Statistical
Office of
Tuzla
for keeping records of population).
In July
1995,
just before the start of operation „Kriva-
ja-95 by the RSA
(the operation started on 6th July
1995),
according to the UNHCR, there were
38,000
inhabitants in
Srebrenica;
11,621
to
12,597
of whom were militarily ca¬
pable men, and according to the Dutch UNPROFOR batta¬
lion and the Special Rapporteur for Human Rights there
were
42,000
inhabitants in Srebrenica;
12,845
to
13,923
of
whom were militarily capable men.
According to data from the UN Secretary General s
Report on Srebrenica with the SB UN
1019
Resolution
there was a total of
40,000
people in Srebrenica, which
represents the average of data the UNHCR and the Dutch
battalion owned.
According to all these sources on 10th July
1995,
the
day before the fall, release or capture of Srebrenica (the
term depends on the side that reads it), in Srebrenica there
were between
10,000
and
15,000
militarily capable men,
who separated from their families (women, children and
elderly) and went to the breakthrough towards
Tuzla.
Ac¬
cording to a statement of Mevludin
Mandžić,
liberated by
the Serbs, there were
13,000
of militarily capable men
(Reuters
-
January 30th
1996).
According to the same
sources
1/3
(one third) of these men was armed, that is to
171
say they were soldiers of the 28th Division of the Army
R
ВІН.
It is evident that the already mentioned data on the
number of militarily capable men (in January
1994, 1995
and July
1995)
fit in this number from
10,000
to
15,000.
What should be noticed, based on these data? First: all
the information is related solely to the Muslim population,
second: data from different sources do not differ signifi¬
cantly, indicating their accuracy, and third: the number of
residents in January
1995
was decreased to about
1,000
compared to the number in January
1994,
which is logical,
because whoever was able to evacuate his family to safer
areas did that. Evacuation is carried out continuously and in
various ways. (Example: until April
1993
the UNPROFOR
evacuated
9,000
people from Srebrenica, and in April this
intervention was stopped by the Government of
Alija
Izet¬
begovic).
And fourth: it is unlikely that the population of
Srebrenica increased in period of six months (from January
to July
1995)
from
36,005
to
38,000
people to
42,000
(2,000
to
6,000),
but for scientific consistency, the data on
population in July
1995
were accepted as facts. These are
just some of the data on population in Srebrenica prior to
the operation of the RSA.
Now, let me introduce you with the number of refugees
(inhabitants) from Srebrenica who were registered alive
after the operation of the RSA.
The (Muslim) Government in Sarajevo with the help of
the World Health Organization registered around
35,632
refugees on 4th August
1995
(less than a month after the
RSA operation) in
Tuzla.
This number refers only to civi¬
lians, which is confirmed by Jonathan Ruper, a former BBC
journalist (published in the respected western journal The
defense and foreign affairs in the article The Icon of Sre-
172
brenica ).
10,903
to
11,812
of the refugees were militari¬
ly capable men.
According to the Report of the UN Secretary General
on Srebrenica the total number of registered refugees from
Srebrenica was
40,000; 24,250
of whom were women,
children and elderly who were evacuated from the UN base
in
Potočari,
and according to data by the ICRC and the Spe¬
cial Rapporteur for Human Rights from the UN base in
Potočari;
23,000
women children and elderly were evacuated.
According to ICRC
3,000
soldiers of the 28th Division
A RBiH broke through and joined the 2nd corps (the one
from
Tuzla)
A RBiH did not register as refugees, and ac¬
cording to a report by Chief of General Staff Gen.
R
BiH-
Rasim
Delie
to the
ВІН
Federation Parliament, thanks to
him and senior officers from HQ A RBiH,
5,000
soldiers of
the 28th Division broke, mainly unharmed, from Srebreni¬
ca and joined the 2nd KA
R
ВІН.
The 28th Division sol¬
diers
(3,000
to
5,000)
were not registered among the
35,632
refugees-civilians.
So far we have met the facts about the population of
Srebrenica before and after the operation of the RS A. Now
we ll see how will mathematical comparison of these data
look, and what will merciless mathematics show.
First: the total number of registered refugees from Sre¬
brenica to
Tuzla
and its surroundings is
35,632,
plus
3,000
(5,000)
soldiers of the 28th A RBiH Division equals
38,632
(40,632)
inhabitants. This number represents the alive pop¬
ulation from Srebrenica which, in various ways, came to
Tuzla
and its surroundings during and after the operation of
the RSA, and it is greater than the number of residents in
January
1994,
January
1995,
in July
1995
(according to the
UNHCR data), and is smaller than the population of Sre-
173
brenica in July
1995
(according to data of the Dutch batta¬
lion and the Special Rapporteur for Human Rights).
If the calculation process was based on GS UN Report
on Srebrenica data, then the results would look like this:
the total of
40,000
alive registered refugees from Srebreni¬
ca minus
24,250
women, children and old people eva¬
cuated from
Potočari
equals
15,750,
which is the number
of militarily capable men. This number is greater than any
number of militarily capable men from January
94,
Janu¬
ary
95
and July
95,
even for
750
higher than the upper
limit
(15,000)
of these men who started the breakthrough.
Second: According to the ICRC, the number of regis¬
tered refugees from Srebrenica is
35,632,
minus
23,000
of
women, children and elderly, evacuated from
Potočari,
equals
12,632
people, which represents the number of mili¬
tarily capable men. If we add the number
3,000 (5,000)
of
the 28th division soldiers, we will get either the number
15,632
or
17,632
militarily capable men, which is more
than the number of those men who were in Srebrenica be¬
fore the RSA operation, and even higher than the upper
limit
(15,000)
of these men who started the breakthrough.
Third: The total number of registered refugees from
Srebrenica:
35,632
minus
24,250
of women, children and
elderly evacuated from
Potočari,
according to data from
„GS UN Report on Srebrenica , equals
11,382
people. If
we add
3,000 (5,000)
soldiers of the 28th RBiH Division to
this number, we will get the number of
14,382
or
16,382,
which is the number of militarily capable men. This num¬
ber is greater than any number of militarily capable men
who were situated in Srebrenica prior to the operation of
the RSA, and its lower limit
(14,382)
is for
618
less than
the upper limit
(15,000)
of those men who were in the
174
breakthrough. According to the testimony of Hakija
Huseinovic, the Hague Tribunal Prosecution witnesses,
500
militarily capable men were killed during the breakthrough
column penetrating towards
Tuzla.
So, there is a number of
118
men for whom we cannot determine the way they died
(in the battles for Srebrenica during the break or in some
other way).
Finally, according to the Debriefing Report by the
Dutch government , the movement of the population of
Srebrenica during and after the RSA operation looked like
this. Population of Srebrenica
(38,000
to
42,000)
was di¬
vided into three groups, during the operation of the RSA.
The first group consisted of
(25,000)
women, children
and the elderly who were evacuated from
Potočari
through
Bratunac to
Tuzla
and registered as refugees.
The second group consisted of militarily capable men
(10,000
to
15,000)
who separated from their families (from
the first group) and started the break through
Buljim
and
Konjević Polje
towards Kladanj and
Gračanica.
10,632
men, separated from this group in Kladanj and
Gračanica,
and
joined the first group, in
Tuzlą
with which they registered as
refugees. The first and the second group together represent the
total number of registered alive Muslim refugees from Sre¬
brenica, and it is
35,632 .
The rest are the soldiers of the 28th
Division who became a part of the 2nd
К
A RBiH and were
•not registered as refugees
(3,000
to
5,000).
The third group
(1,000)
consisted of residents who
had fled from Srebrenica to
Žepa,
and to Serbia from there.
The final calculation is what the Dutch s government
Debriefing Report scheme of movement of the popula¬
tion of Srebrenica is missing. And it looks like this:
35,632
of registered, alive, refugees in and around
Tuzla,
plus
175
3,000
to
5,000
soldiers of the 28th division-not registered as
refugees equals
38,632
to
40,632
inhabitants, plus
1,000
of
those who fled to
Žepa,
and to Serbia, equals
39,632
to
41,632
people. This number is larger than any number of
inhabitants of Srebrenica, which were there at the begin¬
ning of the RSA operations, and its upper limit
(41,632)
is
for
368
people less than the number of inhabitants stated in
the data of the Dutch Battalion and the Special Rapporteur
for Human Rights
(42,000).
These examples clearly point to the conclusion that the
number of Muslim Srebrenica victims can be expressed on¬
ly in hundreds, not thousands, especially not
8,000.
If we
add the number of approximately
8,000
allegedly executed
military capable men to the number of
14,382
to
16,382
militarily capable men (registered after the RSA operation
)
we will get
22,382
to
24,382
militarily capable man. If
that had been the case, at the beginning of July
1995,
there
should have been
37,303
to
40,636
men in total, or
73,143
to
79,678
people in total in Srebrenica,
It is obvious that, according to available data, that
number of people never inhabited Srebrenica, not even at
the beginning of July
1995.
Here are some quotations, to serve as confirmation of
the previously mentioned facts, and to be a motivation for
further thinking:
Joseph Bodanski (the director of researches at ISSA-
International Association for Strategic Studies), who has
written several books about the war in former Yugoslavia,
considers the number of
7,000
Muslim victims a misin-
formation ,and notes that, all the evidence of an inde¬
pendent judicial expertise indicates that the number of
Muslim victims measures in hundreds. Further insistence
176
on such allegedly high number of Muslims killed in Sre¬
brenica stirs the fact that the murders of Serbian civilians
in this town were committed by the Muslims . The quote is
taken from the aforementioned article Icon of Srebrenica .
Up to
1998,
thousands of bodies were exhumed all
over Bosnia and placed on the
Tuzla
airport. Despite the
most contemporary
DNA
testing, only
200
bodies may be
connected with Srebrenica Quote
laken
írom
the afore¬
mentioned article Icon of Srebrenica, s
And the next quote will show the evidence
-
basis of
the Prosecution of the Hague Tribunal
.
At the present time, twenty secondary mass graves
remain to be exhumed. We precisely know the position of
each of them, and for each of them the content check is
performed. Namely, in each of these graves, the remains
of several people -from
80
to
180
bodins,
have been found.
There are probably more than
4000
people for which we
Will be able to say that they were killed cold-bloodealy .
The quote was taken from the Declaration of the main
investigators of the Hague Tribunal Prosecutor Jean-Ren^
Rueza on 22nd February
2001.
Closer reading of the cita¬
tions reveals that the chief investigator of the Prosecutor
s
Office knows precisely what is to be found in the undig
graves. He even knows that the
vietili,
which has not yet
been seen, was killed cold-bloodedly
These are just some excerpts from the Study in which
there are complete and accurate calculations and indicators.
Finally, it can be concluded that thousands
(8,000)
of
Muslim victims of Srebrenica cannot be reliably proven. In
fact, on the basis of the already mentioned facts and other
available proofs, it can be stated that the number of Muslira
victims is beyond measure and represents the largest fraud

both for Serbian and general public. Since both groups of
data, data on the number of victims
(8,000)
and front data
on population before and after the operation of the RSA
(which include the number of militarily capable men), are
from the same sources (Muslim and international forces
and organizations), it clearly points to the conclusion that
the lie exists and that it probably refers to the number of
victims.
