The Book
It has taken me long to bring out this
research based book The Tribal
soldier s of
Mahatma
Gandhi on the
tribals
in general, which I am sure will
be of immense value and help for the
research scholars at Post Graduate
Level.
The Tribal Soldiers of
Mahatma
Gandhi is a fact not a fiction. The
traditional historians unfortunately
have missed out the vital role of the
tribals
in India s Freedom Struggle. A
modest effort has been made in this
book to bring to the fore that the tribal
could not stay aloof from the clarion
call of Freedom Struggle. The
traditional historians could not realize
that ethos of Indian life had penetrated
as deep in the psyche of the tribal who
may be treated as the son of lesser gods
but whose claim to the title son of the
soil cannot be undermined.
It is a fact that great luminaries of the
Modern History of India were the
architects of national straggle. It is also
a fact that they were connected with the
drafting of the blue print of national
struggle. But it is also a fact that
without the dedicated, sincere workers
the blue print could never be translated
into action.
A few years back I returned into a
village, I was enthralled and moved by
the simple and warm hospitality of the
tribals.
At night when about to retire I
heard a tribal folk-lore from a distance
which provoked my sensibilities
which started germinating in my inner
self and this finally culminated into
this book. The wording of the folk-lore
was:

has been
teaching and doing career
counseling in a career
spreading over more than
ihree decades. He has
contributed papers to
accredited journals and
presented them at various
seminars and conferences.
He is deeply involved in the
exploration and projection of
the myth and philosophy of
the tribal of Jharkhand.
