Acknowledgements
For a project of such magnitude, there are so many people to
thank The compilation of this book and the running of the
project have taken months of work from so many quarters It
is impossible to thank every person who has contributed to
making 60 Days for 60 Years a reality; however the following
deserve special mention
• Rabbi Shapira from Netanya, whose ideas 20 years ago were
the catalyst for this project
• Rabbi Hool who gave me the inspiration for the Fifty Days
project in 1994
• Chief Rabbi Dr Jonathan Sacks who has been a friend and
strong supporter from the start of the original project ten
years ago whose support continues to this day
• Syma Weinberg for all her time and effort on our behalf
• David Kaplan for his support and being the rock on which
the whole project has been built
• Rabbi Hersh for giving up so many nights to be an
invaluable help with editing the essays — we couldn t have
done it without him
•Yossi Fachler for believing in the project from the start and
making it huge
• My wife Gila, helping out night after night despite being
eight months pregnant
• Jeremy Jacobs for his support and confidence
• Sheryl Kaplan for her support and sustenance
• Richard Marcus for all his hours of help late into the night
• Marc (Moishele) Levene for coordinating the marketing
campaign, the late nights and everything else
• The rest of the team at Tribe: Debbie, Kerry and Michelle
for all their help and advice
• Dayan Abraham for his advice and guidance
• Gabby Kosky for typing up many of the articles
• Esther Jacobs for her patience and her proof reading
• Rabbi Laitner for his editing skills and sense of humour
