Zusammenfassung: | On August 6th, 1945, at 5:15 am., an atomic bomb was exploded over Hiroshima. This was followed by a second bomb over Nagasaki, on August 9th, at 11:30 am. The miseries and sufferings of the unfortunate men and women who had fallen victim to the bombs have been given expression to in the works of several writers and artists, as well in the writings of school-children who had gone through this horror.Althrough many pictorial books showing actual photographs of the casualties, were published during the month of August 1952, the only systematic report on the injuries to the human body caused by the Atomic Bomb to appear so far, has been the monograph "Medical Report of Atomic Bomb Effects" published at the End of 1951, by the Special Committee for the Investigation of the Effects of the Atomic Bomb, The National Research Council of Japan. (Rep. of Jap. Committee). This book is a monograph of Japanese post-war research on the damage to the human body from atomic bomb explosions, and systematically discusses the damage to human organs and tissues from nuclear explosions. It is an excellent textbook for medical care after nuclear weapons are used in actual warfare in the world, and only Japan has this special condition. Based on a large number of physical entity photographs, it shows that Japan conducted the entire process of tracking and archiving the details in time after the nuclear explosion for post-war research. |
Beschreibung: | This report contains 112 pictures and tables which show detailed medical records including micrographs of tissues and cells of the A-bombed human body. Dr. Kusano entered Hiroshima at the end of August, 1945, and helped perform autopsies of the victims. He first reported the reality of the atomic bomb disaster at the International Doctors Conference held in Vienna in 1953. |
