The book European
muslims
at the beginning of
21.
century
is divided into three pares that are containing several smaller parts
(articles) that the author published in the period from
2002
to
2006
in various B&H magazines.
The book consists of, apart from the Introduction and Summary
(in English), the following parts:
1.
Some aspects of modern European political and religious space
2.
European
muslims
in the context of creating European and self
identity
3.
Modern
islamic
world in the process of globalization.
The centre of this research is
european
muslim
issues, but the
author, in some segments, has in mind the wider geographical coverage,
meaning that, he is approaching this subject on a global level.
In the first part, the,author has decided to analyze modern
european
political and religious problems using available empirical
guidelines, that is, using a wide spectrum of various
european
thoughts about this subject. Here, before all, modern European
space is analyzed as a specific religious market, where the more
traditional schemes of living are disappearing, and where many
of the previously accepted values are becoming questionable.
According to the author, the ecumenical map of Europe is just
one of the European ideals today. Although, it is still feasable

to form specific quantum of spiritual
force that could, exclusevely from the ethics aspect, create a frame
for tolerance, dialogue and peacefiillness regardless of continued
exsistance of west populistic movements and other retrograde forces
in eurospace. In this part of the book, the present is thoroughly
analyzed, but also, the future of the
european
integration processes
in the context of religion is questioned, and the necessity of the
european
intetreligion dialogue presence, that involves
european
muslims,
is emphasised as well. In the second part of the book,
the author analyzes today s very important theme of
european
and
muslim
identity in the time of accelerated
european
integration
processes and migration of the
muslims
in Western Europe
countries. Proclaimed concept of
european
society building,
whose foundation would not be only the ecnonomy but political,
national, religious and cultural determinations and characteristical
lifestyle based on the established institutions. First of ail, this
concept requires defining of specific
european
identity of the
individual, and the entire social groups and their empowerment
as the common strategic determinants according to important
factors of development in future decades. Besides forming the
european
identity, this part discusses space identification of the
Balkans and
balkan
identity that has a characteristic ideological
content. Having this in mind, emphasis is on the process of
building the identity on this geospace, and this is all coming to
the dominant national identification of traditional, very specific
balkan
type that, today, is significantly distant from modern
european
understanding of identification. Besides
european
and
balkan
issues, this part, seperately analyzes identity issues in
Turkey with all of its specific details. It also researches the affect
that the growth of
muslim
population in
EU
has on deepening the
crises of
european
identity midst the
muslim
refusal of availabaie
european
integration concepts that have their roots in the Christian
religion.
In the third part of the book, modern globalization processes are
discussed, as well as their impact on today s
muslim
people. That
world is seen here as society that has been disabled to make its

history for a long time, and in which has the continuous presence of
feelings of weakness, humiliation, and defeat through domination,
political and cultural aggression and geopolitical control of the
west countries. Considering this, today, economic doctrine of
neoliberalism
and political projects of spreading the democracy
as well as foreign development visions that are lacking rational
economic, political and religious coverage, are pushed upon the
musíím
world by the strongly developed capitalist countries.
The author suggests that the solution to this problem would be
making the interislamic and panislamic political and economic
association more incense, and wider connection involving the
principles of
islamic
economy* The author also is including basic
assumptions of a unique program action that could be used as
a basis of collected function of the
muslim
world in the area o£
globalization and protecting the self interests of the future, but he
is deeply conscious of the realisation being far away considering
the
différences
that are, unfortunately, deeply rooted in the
islamic
history.

identity in the time of accelerated
european
integration
processes and migration of the
muslims
in Western Europe
countries. Proclaimed concept of
european
society building,
whose foundation would not be only the ecnonomy but political,
national, religious and cultural determinations and characteristical
lifestyle based on the established institutions. First of ail, this
concept requires defining of specific
european
identity of the
individual, and the entire social groups and their empowerment
as the common strategic determinants according to important
factors of development in future decades. Besides forming the
european
identity, this part discusses space identification of the
Balkans and
balkan
identity that has a characteristic ideological
content. Having this in mind, emphasis is on the process of
building the identity on this geospace, and this is all coming to
the dominant national identification of traditional, very specific
balkan
type that, today, is significantly distant from modern
european
understanding of identification. Besides
european
and
balkan
issues, this part, seperately analyzes identity issues in
Turkey with all of its specific details. It also researches the affect
that the growth of
muslim
population in
EU
has on deepening the
crises of
european
identity midst the
muslim
refusal of availabaie
european
integration concepts that have their roots in the Christian
religion.
In the third part of the book, modern globalization processes are
discussed, as well as their impact on today's
muslim
people. That
world is seen here as society that has been disabled to make its

century
history for a long time, and in which has the continuous presence of
feelings of weakness, humiliation, and defeat through domination,
political and cultural aggression and geopolitical control of the
west countries. Considering this, today, economic doctrine of
neoliberalism
and political projects of "spreading the democracy"
as well as foreign development visions that are lacking rational
economic, political and religious coverage, are pushed upon the
musíím
world by the strongly developed capitalist countries.
The author suggests that the solution to this problem would be
making the interislamic and panislamic political and economic
association more incense, and wider connection involving the
principles of
islamic
economy* The author also is including basic
assumptions of a unique program action that could be used as
a basis of collected function of the
muslim
world in the area o£
globalization and protecting the self interests of the future, but he
is deeply conscious of the realisation being far away considering
the
différences
that are, unfortunately, deeply rooted in the
islamic
history.
