Calculated by art, as a tutor for their helpe, that otherwise buy more then they vnderstand. - Identified as STC 1551a on UMI microfilm, reel 561. - M3r is a separate title page reading: Sphinx, and Oedipus. Yet further propounding and dissoluing of riddles. Or, A supplement, or new supply of additions, pertinent to this former misselanie, or helpe to discourse. - Often attributed to William Basse, Edward Phillips or Edward Pond; this attribution, however, is doubtful. - On the title page of the copy catalogued, the "eight" has been corrected in manuscript to read "eighth". - Reproduction of the original in the Folger Shakespeare Library. - STC (2nd ed.), 1551.5
