| Zusammenfassung: | A system for on-line mathematical analysis, called MAP, has been developed for use within the M.I.T. Compatible Time Sharing System. Taking advantage of the varied user-machine interactions which are possible, MAP provides a facility for handling complex analyses, data input and presentation of results without requiring any computer programming by the user. This report is a description of the language and a self-teaching user manual; it does not describe the techniques used to implement the system. When given incomplete requests, the system will provide instructions regarding the use of its procedures and will ask for all the parameters, values and option decisions which may be required. If the requests are correct and sufficiently detailed, the computer will proceed directly to the calculations and, on command, present the results in graphical or typewritten form. Provisions have also been included to allow the expansion and personalization of the system in whatever manner is desired by individual users. (Author). |
