over-emotional, unstructured and naive.
Presenting a comprehensive analysis of
Margery s meditative experience, this
fascinating study breaks new ground
with the provocative central premise that
far from being diffuse and disorganized, a
detailed re-reading of the Book reveals its
careful structuring and firm progression.

development and meditations in an age of
devotional Church teaching and literature,
liturgy, ritual and iconography; the study
shows that there is steady advancement from
chapter to chapter and the structure suitably
mirrors the development in Margerys own
spirituality as the Bride of Christ. It also
