About the Editor
Srinivas Aluru is Professor and Associate Chair for Research in the department of Electrical
and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University. His research interests include parallel
algorithms and applications, bioinformatics, computational biology, and combinatorial scientific
computing. The recipient of numerous awards, Dr. Aluru serves as chair of the Bioinformatics
and Computational Biology graduate program and is a member of the Laurence H. Baker Center
for Bioinformatics and Biological Statistics as well as the Center for Plant Genomics at Iowa
State University.
