Beschreibung:Summary: The effect of habitat and management on nest density and success was examined through duck nesting data provided by the Monte Vista National Wildlife Refuge in Colorado. 4,154 duck nests were discovered on 16,159 kms. of transect from 1964-1990 (except 1977). Mallards, at 54.5% of the duck nests, was the most abundant, with teal species and northern pintails coming close. Over the 26-year period, 52.4% of 4,154 nests were successful.
