Zusammenfassung:Abstract: "A finite-volume discretization for advection-diffusion equations with source term is described and applied. The complete space discretization is second- to third-order accurate and monotone. Good accuracy and monotonicity are guaranteed by an appropriate limiter function in the upwind advection operator. The discretization of diffusion is standard, second-order central. For source terms, an evaluation is proposed which is consistent with that of the advection terms. It leads to improved accuracy, as well as to improved residual convergence for steady problems. The complete space discretization works well for both smooth and non-smooth problems. This good robustness is considered to be the method's main property
Except for two novelties (the limiter function and the source term evaluation), the space discretization is standard and well-proven in e.g. aircraft-aerodynamics computations. In air-pollution transport computations it is not. We think that it can be successfully applied in the latter field as well.
