Summary:Abstract: "A language, based on ACP (Algebra of Communicating Processes), is proposed to describe and verify real time systems using a discrete time scale. This language is called ACP[superscript t, subscript tau epsilon]. ACP[subscript tau epsilon] is the timeless variant of ACP[superscript t, subscript tau epsilon]. Contrary to many other proposals for real time languages ACP[superscript t, subscript tau epsilon] is simple, but powerful. It unifies real time, abstraction, parallelism and communication in one algebraic framework. We give a set of axioms describing the properties of ACP[superscript t, subscript tau epsilon], together with a corresponding operational semantics
Furthermore, we define an interpretation of ACP[subscript tau epsilon] in ACP[superscript t, subscript tau epsilon], thereby fixing an intuition behind time in ACP[subscript tau epsilon]. Some examples show the use of ACP[superscript t, subscript tau epsilon].
