Keys to Language Teaching are full of practical suggestions for lessons and
activities which will help you in your daily teaching. They are written in clear, jargon-free

authors are all experienced teachers who give straightforward advice on basic teaching
techniques.
Visuals for the Language Classroom is a practical guide to the visual materials
commonly available to the classroom teacher. It describes the characteristics of the
various media and shows how a sensitive understanding of these characteristics will
lead the teacher to fresh, dynamic and efficient activities in the language classroom. All
the ideas in this book can be copied by any teacher with the minimum of time, money or
artistic talent. Many of the hundreds of examples have been illustrated by the authors
themselves.
It includes:

Separate chapters on each of the different types of visual materials, analysis of their
characteristics and ideas for exploiting these characteristics.

Technical tips on handling the various types of materials and hints on how to
improve your drawing and designing skills.

Questions and activities to help you see how the ideas could be adapted and applied
to your own classroom.
Andrew Wright has worked with teachers in over twenty-five countries. Through his
teaching, books and articles he is well known for his concern for the creativity of the
teacher and for the practicality of his ideas.
Sofia Haleem has been a classroom teacher of English as a foreign language for many
years. She is also a teacher trainer and a regular broadcaster for the BBC.
