Summary:Abstract: In this paper, John Jordan initiates a discussion regarding a model for worker co-operatives. This model should clarify the application of co-operative principles to a new form of co-operative. The balance between ownership of the co-operative by individuals, and by workers in common, needs to be established. In addition to discussing these matters, the paper provides a guide to resources on worker co-operatives. Jack Quarter provides an update on worker co-operatives in English Canada. Included is an overview of government (both provincial and federal) attitudes toward this relatively new initiative.
