Xavier Vernetta

Xavier Vernetta i Gallart (born 11 October 1956 in Barcelona) is a Spanish professor of literature, literary critic, translator and writer.

He has a degree in Contemporary History and Catalan Philology from the University of Barcelona. He has published about a dozen narrative works in Catalan, covering genres such as short stories, novel for adults, the young adult novel or fairytale. In 2003 he received ''ex aequo'' the ''Premi de Narrativa de la Fundació Enciclopèdia Catalana'' Prize for his work ''Parlem d'amor'', and in 2007, the Lleida Prize for ''País de llops''.
