Doris Sommer

Doris Sommer Ph.D ([[Rutgers Doris Sommer (born January 15, 1947) is a literature scholar who has developed Pre-Texts, a world-wide program that promotes critical thinking skills and mental wellness through making art (visual, performance, literary, etc.) based on challenging texts. She is Ira Jewell Williams, Jr., Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures and of African and African American Studies at Harvard University. She is also Director of the [https://www.culturalagents.org/ Cultural Agents Initiative] at Harvard. Sommer received her PhD from Rutgers University.
