Zusammenfassung: | This is a monograph written for the young and advanced researcher who is entering the field of wet granular matter and keen to understand the basic physical principles governing this state of soft matter. It treats wet granulates as an instance of a ternary system, consisting of the grains, a primary, and a secondary fluid. After addressing wetting phenomena in general and outlining the basic facts on dry granular systems, a chapter on basic mechanisms and their effects is dedicated to every region of the ternary phase diagram. Effects of grain shape and roughness are considered as well. Rather than addressing engineering aspects such as existing books on this topic do, the book aims to provide a generalized framework suitable for those who want to understand these systems on a more fundamental basis. |

After addressing wetting phenomena in general and outlining the basic facts on dry granular systems, a chapter on basic mechanisms and their effects is dedicated to every region of the ternary phase diagram. Effects of grain shape and roughness are considered as well. Rather than addressing engineering aspects such as existing books on this topic do, the book aims to provide a generalized framework suitable for those who want to understand these systems on a more fundamental basis.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Soft condensed matter.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh94007759</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Wetting.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85146333</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Granular materials</subfield><subfield code="x">Permeability.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85056436</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Granular materials</subfield><subfield code="x">Mechanical properties.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Matière molle (Physique)</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Matériaux granulaires</subfield><subfield code="x">Propriétés mécaniques.</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Energy.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Mechanics</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">SCIENCE</subfield><subfield code="x">Physics</subfield><subfield code="x">General.</subfield><subfield code="2">bisacsh</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Granular materials</subfield><subfield code="x">Mechanical properties</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Granular materials</subfield><subfield code="x">Permeability</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Soft condensed matter</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Wetting</subfield><subfield code="2">fast</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="710" ind1="2" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">World Scientific (Firm)</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2001005546</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="758" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="i">has work:</subfield><subfield code="a">Wet granular matter (Text)</subfield><subfield code="1">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/entity/E39PCFTTJ97HdxfjbHpxpK4b7d</subfield><subfield code="4">https://id.oclc.org/worldcat/ontology/hasWork</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Print version:</subfield><subfield code="z">9789814417693</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="830" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Series in soft condensed matter ;</subfield><subfield code="v">v. 6.</subfield><subfield code="0">http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2009072110</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="0"><subfield code="l">FWS01</subfield><subfield code="p">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield><subfield code="q">FWS_PDA_EBA</subfield><subfield code="u">https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=645977</subfield><subfield code="3">Volltext</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ebrary</subfield><subfield code="b">EBRY</subfield><subfield code="n">ebr10775227</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">EBSCOhost</subfield><subfield code="b">EBSC</subfield><subfield code="n">645977</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Cengage Learning</subfield><subfield code="b">GVRL</subfield><subfield code="n">GVRL8RDQ</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="938" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">YBP Library Services</subfield><subfield code="b">YANK</subfield><subfield code="n">11202589</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="994" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">92</subfield><subfield code="b">GEBAY</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="912" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">ZDB-4-EBA</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="049" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">DE-863</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |

This is a monograph written for the young and advanced researcher who is entering the field of wet granular matter and keen to understand the basic physical principles governing this state of soft matter.
