Jane Grey

Signatur mini|Möglicherweise Lady Jane Grey Dudley (Künstler unbekannt) [[Datei:Janegreysig.jpg|rahmenlos|rechts|Signatur]] Lady Jane Grey (* 1536/1537 in Bradgate in Leicestershire (Mittelengland); † 12. Februar 1554 im Tower in London) beanspruchte als Erbin des am 6. Juli 1553 verstorbenen König Eduard VI. vom 10. bis zum 19. Juli 1553 den Titel einer Königin von England. Seither hat sie den Beinamen ''Neuntagekönigin'' oder ''Dreizehntagekönigin'' (je nach Thronfolgedatum; engl. ''The Nine Days’ Queen'' bzw. ''The Thirteen Days’ Queen''). Sie unterlag jedoch Maria I., die von ihrem Vater König Heinrich VIII. testamentarisch als Erbin nach Eduard VI. vorgesehen war, und wurde enthauptet. Ihre Eltern waren Henry Grey, 1.
