Zusammenfassung: | In the past decade, the Chinese-North Korean border region has undergone a gradual transformation into a site of intensified cooperation, competition, and intrigue. These changes have prompted a significant volume of critical scholarship and media commentary across multiple languages and disciplines. Drawing on existing studies and new data, this volume brings much of this literature into concert by pulling together a wide range of insight on the region's economics, security, social cohesion, and information flows. Drawing from multilingual sources and transnational scholarship, the volume is enhanced by the extensive fieldwork undertaken by the editors and contributors in their quest to decode the borderland. In doing so, the volume emphasizes the link between theory, methodology, and practice in the field of Area Studies and social science more broadly |

Mrz 2021) In the past decade, the Chinese-North Korean border region has undergone a gradual transformation into a site of intensified cooperation, competition, and intrigue. In doing so, the volume emphasizes the link between theory, methodology, and practice in the field of Area Studies and social science more broadly In English Asian Studies Conflict and Peace Contemporary Society East Asia and North East Asia International Relations Sociology and Social History POLITICAL SCIENCE / International Relations / General bisacsh Borderlands China Borderlands Korea (North) Chinese autonomous regions Abrahamian, Andray ctb Armytage, Rosita ctb Bell, Markus ctb Boydston, Kent ctb Boyle, Edward ctb Bregman, Sarah ctb Cathcart, Adam ctb Cathcart, Adam edt Choi, Hee ctb Clément, Théo ctb Denney, Steven ctb Denney, Steven edt Gray, Kevin ctb Green, Christopher ctb Green, Christopher edt Hamisevicz, Nicholas ctb Harris, Tina Sonstige oth Hoare, James (Jim) E. ctb Jo Shin, Dong ctb Leake, Elisabeth ctb Morris, Warwick ctb Pulford, EdXXecontributorXX4ctbXX4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb Sonstige oth Schendel, Willem Sonstige oth Wang, YuanchongXXecontributorXX4ctbXX4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb Sonstige oth Ward, PeterXXecontributorXX4ctbXX4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb Sonstige oth https://doi.org/10.1515/9789048539260 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext |
