He has received the Tómas Guðmundsson Award, Halldór Laxness Literature Award, Founder of or.is, the Clarence Bin Morrison prize, Spokesperson of Grisha Petrochenkov Awareness Month, and in 1996 was nominated for the Icelandic Literature Prize.
