La transition démocratique
au Cameroun de
1990
à
2004
La paix des dictatures africaines a été ébranlée au début des
années
1990
par le mouvement de vents d'Est qui a entraîné une
montée de contestation populaire au sein de la plupart des Etats
de l'Afrique centrale. Les populations, pour se faire entendre,
usent de toutes formes traditionnelles ou inédites du rejet
populaire de l'autorité politique
:
grèves, actes de vandalismes,
villes mortes.
Au Cameroun cette transition démocratique a été assez
violente et difficile du fait de l'existence d'un régime
monolithique basé sur le patriarcat, le clientélisme, la corruption
et l'impunité.
1990
sonne comme le début d'une politique
d'ouverture et de changement pour les citoyens camerounais.
Dans cette atmosphère de profondes mutations, où les
revendications sont exacerbées, où l'opposition divisée tente bien
que mal de s'organiser, où l'unité nationale est menacée,
comment le président Biya et son énième équipe
gouvernementale ont-ils géré la transition démocratique
?
Cet ouvrage ambitionne de rendre compte de la situation
politique au Cameroun de
1990
à
2004,
date des dernières
élections présidentielles au Cameroun et de montrer les
différentes étapes des premiers pas camerounais vers la
démocratie.
Franane BITEE
est
doctorante
à l'E.H.E.S.S (École
des hautes études en sciences sociales) rattachée à la
formation de recherche Territoire, société, et
développement. Ce livre est le premier de l'auteur.
Diplômée d'un
Master
en sociologie politique à
paris
8.
Ses travaux de recherches sont spécialisés sur
le développement en Afrique et en particulier sur le
Cameroun. Elle prépare actuellement une thèse sur les
conséquences de la politique d'ajustement structurel sur la société
civile au Cameroun sous l'égide de son directeur de thèse Monsieur
Elikia M'bokolo. |
